I started my lifelong love of repairing and maintaining instruments almost 20 years ago, in a small guitar shop in Headingley, Leeds. Since then I have never stopped; always learning from my peers, actively developing new techniques and gaining an affinity with my tools.
Simply put, I love working on guitars, and this has been my full time occupation in most of those years. In that time I feel I have gained a deep understanding of strung instruments and how they work, as well as their limitations.
I aim to give my customers a personal service, where taking into account each players unique styles and subtle preferences is standard procedure. Seasoned players in particular often have specific needs from an instrument, and I often tailor a setup to the guitars owner.
I try to re-unite guitar and player in around a week for most jobs, often sooner for small jobs and a little longer for more intensive work such as refretting, paintwork and wood repairs such as headstock breaks or acoustic backs and sides.Â
